Welcome to my blog! It’s all about FLM Guarantor Loans.
My name’s Pete Whitely and I’ve created this site especially to help people know what to look for when they’re trying to borrow a bit of cash.
A few years back, I was making a reasonable living in engineering, paying off my mortgage, squirrelling some savings away every month and doing fine. Then it all fell apart: the company went under, I lost my job, spent all my savings on paying bills and couldn’t get more work because I hadn’t finished my engineer’s training. Things got so tight that I ended up going to a loan broker for help – I knew getting a loan was risky and using a broker would cost me money, but it was either that or go bankrupt. Thankfully, the broker came up with several options that could give me what I needed, including a guarantor loan from someone called FLM.
I checked their website, read about how I could apply online and even a few reviews written by people who’d used them before, but the fact that they were willing to consider me regardless of my situation was probably the clincher for me. I’ll be honest though, I didn’t know what a guarantor loan was. And even once I’d read up on it, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to find someone to stand by me and promise to pay it off if I couldn’t. Naturally, I asked around my family but none of them could help; the only homeowner among them was my cousin, but he’d had credit card problems in the past and didn’t think he’d be accepted. Amazingly though, a chance meeting with someone I hadn’t seen in years – Ash, a friend I went to uni with – ended with him offering to help.
We talked it through and although I had to lengthen the term of the loan to bring the repayments down to a level he was happy with, it all got sorted pretty quickly. After that, we printed out and filled in the paperwork and uploaded them to the website… who knew you could supply digital photos of application forms?! Then, the next day, I got a call from a lady from FLM. She said she was my caseworker – Sam, I think it was – and basically ran through everything that was going on, as well as telling me she’d be talking to Ash soon to confirm everything with him and answer any questions he had.
What I didn’t expect a few hours later was the text message I got saying that everything had gone through and the money had been paid out! I thought if it had been okay, I’d have to wait at least a few days… And trust me, it’s made all the difference – thanks to Ash’s help, I’ve managed to put a large chunk of the money into starting a business selling collectibles through eBay. Okay, so I’m still having to watch my finances, but I’m actually earning enough now that I’ve managed to pay off my loan early. Ash is even talking about quitting his 9-5 job and coming on board with me in the business! It’s hardly where I expected to be back when I was an engineer, but I’m not complaining in the slightest…
